Get Involved

It takes a Village.... and then some!

For those of you close to the VMPA, you will know that it takes all of us to do what we do! There are many different ways to volunteer, with different levels of time commitment as well as weekday/ weekend opportunities.

Volunteer a lot, or a little.

We always enjoy meeting new parents and coming up with new ways to make the Verona Music Program the best it can be for our children.

Marching Band season requires lots of volunteers.

The Pit Crew are the team of volunteers you see carrying and lifting Marching Band equipment, and who get drum sets, percussion equipment, xylophones, props, and other crucial items on and off the field before and after every halftime show and competition.

This season, the Pit Crew provided assistance for five competitions and at least five halftime appearances. You can volunteer for the entire season, or on a week-by-week basis. Plenty of hands are needed to make sure the show runs smoothly. The Pit Crew team leader works with the Marching Band staff, handles volunteer sign-ups, and coordinates the team before each outing. These volunteers also enjoy the best perk of all—being on the field with the Verona Marching Maroon and White during each performance as well as free admission to competitions.
